The Lost Sierra Lodge is a private five-bedroom, three-bath mountain home for up to ten registered overnight guests near Portola and Graeagle. It suits the family, wedding-party members, or close friends who want a kitchen, shared living spaces, and time together between wedding events.

Stay together across from Chalet View Lodge, with space for shared breakfasts, getting ready and an unhurried evening around the wedding schedule. Whether the celebration falls midweek or over a weekend, check the dates and minimum stay that apply to your trip. The Lost Sierra Lodge and Chalet View Lodge are independently operated.

Choose the house for the people staying.

Start with the sleeping arrangements.

The Lodge has five fixed beds: two kings, two queens, and one full. One bedroom is downstairs and four are upstairs. Review the bedroom galleries with your group before booking; a ten-person capacity does not mean ten separate beds. Three full bathrooms help with a busy morning, but a bathroom schedule still makes life easier.

Leave room for ordinary moments.

Breakfast, garment bags, a quiet cup of coffee, and somewhere to sit together often matter more than another scheduled activity. The kitchen and dining spaces let the staying group prepare meals, while the gathering spaces give people options for conversation or a game of pool.

Confirm the room allocation before asking everyone to commit. Discuss entrance steps and any mobility needs with the hosts; a downstairs bedroom alone does not establish step-free access. The home does not have air conditioning, so include that in a summer-stay decision.

Attending a wedding at Chalet View Lodge?

The Lost Sierra Lodge is across from Chalet View Lodge in the Portola area and offers a separate whole-home option for part of the guest list. The two properties are independently operated. Your stay here does not include venue access, wedding services, transportation, or a Chalet View room block. Use Chalet View Lodge’s wedding information and the couple’s instructions for event arrangements.

For a wedding elsewhere in the Lost Sierra.

Wedding venues are spread across Graeagle, Clio, Blairsden, Cromberg, and Portola. Choose accommodation after considering the actual venue entrance, event schedule, and transport plan. A home that suits one side of the wedding party is different from a hotel block for the whole guest list.

Arrange the return journey early.

Do not make a late-night ride request the transport plan. Rural rideshare availability and cellular coverage can be limited. Confirm a designated driver, venue shuttle, or separately booked service in advance. Ask the venue about pickup locations and timing. Allow for unfamiliar roads, darkness, weather, and the time needed to gather the group; proximity does not establish a safe walking route.

Give the weekend a comfortable rhythm.

Give the weekend a comfortable rhythm.

Arrival day: settle in before the welcome gathering.

Follow your confirmed check-in time. Unpack, agree on the next day’s transport, and stock breakfast food, water, and easy snacks. If the wedding schedule allows, take a short Graeagle and Portola outing rather than committing to a long mountain excursion.

Wedding morning: choose one nearby thing.

A short walk, coffee, or an easy breakfast is plenty. Keep ambitious hikes and full golf rounds for another day. Leave generous time for showers, getting dressed, photographs, and transport. If stylists, photographers, vendors, or extra daytime visitors would come to the Lodge, discuss the proposal with the hosts before making arrangements.

The morning after: let the group linger.

Attend the organized brunch or make a simple breakfast for the registered staying group. An extra full day can make room for the Lakes Basin or a golf getaway. Use checkout and any minimum-stay requirements shown for your reservation; do not build the plan around an unconfirmed early arrival or late departure.

A short wedding-day outing versus an extra full day

On the wedding day, choose breakfast or a brief town stop and work backward from the required venue arrival—not the ceremony time alone. Save an eighteen-hole round or Lakes Basin drive for a separate full day. For a group with different energy levels, make the longer outing optional and keep transport independent from the wedding shuttle. Browse food and local stops for the shorter plan.

A few useful answers before booking.

A few useful answers before booking.

Can the Lodge accommodate the entire wedding party?

It depends on the group: the limit is ten registered overnight guests, across the actual five-bedroom layout. Review the beds and bathrooms, rather than assuming the house replaces a large room block.

Can we host a welcome dinner or bring vendors?

A standard lodging reservation does not authorize events or additional visitors. Contact the hosts before planning anything beyond a normal stay. Hold organized wedding gatherings at the wedding venue or another suitable location with its own permissions.

What should non-wedding time look like?

Keep it optional. Suggest a village visit, a walk, or a relaxed meal through Explore the Lost Sierra. Let guests choose around the couple’s schedule instead of giving everyone another itinerary to complete.

How do we check dates?

Check Lodge availability and total pricing for the intended group and dates. Review the total, booking terms, and minimum stay before reserving. Confirm wedding arrangements separately with the couple and venue. Contact the hosts with accommodation questions at Vacation@TheLostSierraLodge.com.

Picture the stay before reserving.

Share the full photo gallery, bedroom layouts, bathrooms and kitchen and dining spaces with your group. Check dates, agree on rooms, and confirm the journey to and from the venue. Contact Travis and Brittany if a detail would help you decide.

Extending the trip? Explore Family & Friends Getaways or plan a Golf Getaway.

Can we check in and get ready on the wedding morning?

Do not build the schedule around that unless your confirmed reservation permits it. If you need bedrooms and bathrooms that morning, reserve the preceding night or make another agreed arrangement. Early check-in is not established by a nearby venue or an event invitation.
