THE CLASSIC
Bring your golf crew to the Lost Sierra. Make the Lodge your clubhouse, explore five distinctive courses, and give a great round a story that lasts all season.
The inaugural 2027 Classic is independently organized by the Lodge. Friendly trip rivalries and verified season-long competition share one home base in the mountains.
THE COMPETITION
01 / YOUR GROUP
Your group chooses its own format, competitors, scoring, and winner. The private Golf Trip Champion receives one complimentary custom Golf Legends Classic rope hat. This award is separate from the annual championship; a group win does not automatically enter a round or earn a lodging discount.
02 / THE SEASON
Eligible registered overnight guests play individual 18-hole stroke play during their Lodge stay and the April 1–November 30 season. Submit a signed scorecard through the official form. Your best verified Golf Legends Score counts toward the overall title and your best qualifying round at each course counts toward its championship.

THE LEGENDS / VERIFIED ANNUAL AWARDS
The Lost Sierra Legend
The lowest verified overall score earns a personalized premium leather driver headcover, Hall of Champions recognition, and 10% off one eligible 2028 Lodge stay, up to $500.
Four additional Course Champions
Each receives a personalized fairway-wood headcover and 5% off one eligible 2028 Lodge stay, up to $250. The overall Legend also holds the fifth course title and receives the Legend package instead of a second course package.
Awards follow the Official Competition Rules. Winners announced by December 31, 2027; unresolved ties can produce co-champions. Lodging rewards apply to one eligible 2028 stay, normal minimum stays apply, holiday weekends require advance host approval, and discounts do not stack. Merchandise images below are design concepts; final physical prize designs and values remain subject to the official rules.
THE COURSES
One qualifying round can put you in contention. Play one course or make a multi-course Lost Sierra golf getaway of it. Tee times, golf fees, and course availability are arranged separately with each course.

HOW IT WORKS / THE TOURNAMENT PROGRAM
Make the Lodge your home base
Be a registered overnight guest. A Lodge booking does not automatically enter the competition. Participants under 18 require parent or guardian authorization under the official rules.
Play a qualifying round
Complete individual 18-hole stroke play at an eligible course, using a listed tee and rating category during your eligible stay and the season. Count every stroke and penalty; have a playing partner sign the scorecard.
Submit your official entry
Use Jotform with your round, stay details, and a clear signed scorecard photograph. Accept the required rules/public-results and promotional-email agreements. Submit within 24 hours after checkout or by December 1, 2027, 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time, whichever occurs first.
Let the Lodge verify it
Entries are checked for eligibility, course/tee selection, dates, scorecards, and accuracy. The course-adjusted gross score uses actual strokes, Course Rating, and Slope Rating; no personal handicap is required.
Follow provisional rankings
Your best qualifying score counts. Live standings remain provisional until final verification. Championship winners are determined and announced no later than December 31, 2027.
Tournament registration requires promotional-email consent. You may later unsubscribe; under the rules, that does not invalidate an otherwise eligible entry or earned prize. Reservation and competition administration messages may continue.

THE GOLF LEGENDS SCORE
Your round.
Put in perspective.
No personal handicap needed. The adopted formula adjusts actual gross strokes for the course and tees played.
GOLF LEGENDS SCORE
(113 ÷ Slope) × (Gross Strokes − Course Rating)
This WHS-inspired course-adjusted gross score compares course difficulty. It is not an official WHS differential and does not equalize golfers of different abilities.
All 2027 entries use the same fixed owner-adopted table below. Only the listed course, exact tee, and rating-category combinations are eligible.

Rating sources & the adopted reference
Grizzly Ranch values trace to an indexed USGA course listing. Whitehawk Ranch, Plumas Pines, Graeagle Meadows, and The Dragon at Nakoma use the owner-adopted GolfCore values, which have not been independently verified against the USGA database and may differ from current course-issued ratings. This fixed contest reference was adopted October 9, 2026 and is used consistently for the 2027 season. Full precision determines rankings before countback. If still tied, compare strokes relative to adopted segment par for holes 10–18, 13–18, 16–18, 18, 4–9, 7–9, and 9. Unresolved ties yield co-champions. The cross-course countback does not fully adjust for course difficulty.

BEFORE THE FIRST TEE
Good questions.
Straight answers.
Who can participate?
Registered overnight guests of The Lost Sierra Lodge who play an eligible individual 18-hole stroke-play round during their qualifying 2027 Lodge stay. The season runs April 1–November 30, subject to course operations. There is no separate contest entry fee.
Do I need a GHIN or personal handicap?
No. The Golf Legends Score uses actual gross strokes and the adopted course and tee ratings. It compares course difficulty; it does not equalize golfers of different abilities. It is a WHS-inspired contest score, not an official WHS differential.
Do I need to play all five courses?
No. One qualifying round at an eligible course can contend for that course title and the overall Legend title. Play additional qualifying rounds during eligible Lodge stays; your best verified result counts.
How and when do I submit?
Use the official Jotform linked here and in the TouchStay Golf Legends page. Submit before checkout when possible. The deadline is within 24 hours after checkout or December 1, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time, whichever occurs first. The form timestamp controls timeliness.
What goes on the scorecard?
A complete individual 18-hole stroke-play scorecard with hole-by-hole strokes and pars, gross total, course, date, exact tees and rating category, golfer name, and a playing partner’s signature as marker. Count every stroke and penalty. Upload a clear photograph and supply the stay details in the form.
How are ties resolved?
First compare the unrounded Golf Legends Scores. If still tied, compare strokes relative to the adopted par for holes 10–18, 13–18, 16–18, 18, 4–9, 7–9, and 9, in that order. Stop at the first different result. Unresolved ties produce co-champions. This cross-course countback does not fully adjust for course difficulty.
Is the Golf Trip Champion the same as a course champion?
They are separate awards. Each participating group chooses its private Golf Trip Champion under its own format and awards the embroidered rope hat. Annual course titles and The Lost Sierra Legend are decided from verified Classic entries. An annual title does not also confer a hat.
Are tee times or course fees included?
Arrange tee times and pay golf fees separately with the courses. The Lodge independently sponsors the Classic; no course affiliation or included golf is implied. Course operations, availability, and conditions vary.
When will winners be announced?
The inaugural 2027 winners will be announced by December 31, 2027, after final verification. The Lost Sierra Legend also holds the fifth course title and receives the Legend prize, without a second course prize.
How do the lodging prizes work?
The Legend receives 10% off one eligible 2028 stay, up to $500; each of the four other course champions receives 5% off one eligible 2028 stay, up to $250. Applies to lodging charges for a stay in 2028, with normal minimum stays. Holiday weekends require advance host approval. Awards do not stack with other discounts.
Does writing in the Golf Legends Book enter my score?
The leather-bound book commemorates your trip. The official entry is the Jotform scorecard submission. Writing in the book does not enter a round.
