LOCAL PHOTOGRAPH / THE LOST SIERRA
See the same landscape through someone else’s eyes.
The Lost Sierra Plein Air Festival celebrates painting outdoors, with artists responding to the mountains, towns, and valley landscapes around them. Depending on the year’s program, visitors can find exhibitions, sales, quick-draw activities, and chances to see new work inspired by the place they are visiting.
Choose the public exhibitions or activities that suit your visit rather than assuming every part of the artist schedule is open to spectators.
Check venue locations: programming can take place across the region.
Leave time to explore the surrounding town or landscape after seeing how artists have interpreted it.
Host tip: Build a spring outing around one public part of the festival, then add a lunch stop or a nature walk. You do not need to be a painter or a collector to enjoy seeing the Lost Sierra through fresh work.
Workshops, artist registration, private previews, and public viewing can have different access or ticket requirements. Confirm the current edition’s schedule and opening times with the organizer.
