Portola & Graeagle
A little river time, as long or as short as you like.
LOCAL PHOTOGRAPH / THE LOST SIERRA
Nature walk · Flexible · Mostly level · 20–60 min
The Portola Riverwalk is one of the easiest ways to spend a little time beside the Middle Fork Feather River. The paved path follows the river from downtown Portola toward a National Forest picnic area, passing native vegetation and the community’s scenic disc-golf course along the way. There is no required destination or turnaround point. Come for a quick morning walk, let children ride their bikes, or stay long enough to watch the river and explore the surrounding park.
The approach: Corner of Beckwith Street and Riverside Avenue in Portola
Along the way: A mostly level paved path through an open riverside setting. The Riverwalk property encompasses more than 28 acres and shares space with an 18-hole disc-golf course.
Host tip: Pair the Riverwalk with lunch or drinks in Portola or a visit to the Western Pacific Railroad Museum. Guests interested in fishing or exploring additional river access can continue to our Middle Fork Feather River pages.
Before you go: The official city page does not publish a fixed trail length, so treat this as a walk-as-far-as-you-like outing rather than a prescribed route.
