← EXPLORE THE LOST SIERRA
Quincy & South Park
Let the mountain day run a little longer. About 16 mi; Intermediate to advanced.
LOCAL PHOTOGRAPH / THE LOST SIERRA
A longer descent links high Mount Hough riding to the lower forest and Spanish Creek area through South Park. It feels like an extended cross-country journey rather than the most direct exit.
Distance: About 16 mi
Effort: Intermediate to advanced
Climbing/descending: About 720 ft up / 4,700 ft down
Allow: 3–5 hr
From the Lodge: 45–55 min to Quincy
Bike: Conventional trail mountain bike
Plan: The itinerary finishes at Cascade Trailhead. Stage a vehicle or confirm the onward pedal; the route does not automatically deliver you back to the shuttle shop.
Host tip: Settle the finish before the start. A well-planned pickup makes the last miles more enjoyable.
Before you ride: South Park prohibits e-bikes, including when an earlier part of the route allows them. Choose a conventional bike for this full itinerary.
