← EXPLORE THE LOST SIERRA
Lake Davis
Dirt under the tires. Lake beside you. Flexible out-and-back; Easy trail skills.
LOCAL PHOTOGRAPH / THE LOST SIERRA
The southern and eastern shores offer a gentler introduction to natural-surface riding than the rockier Lakes Basin. Forest, water views, and short rollers make an enjoyable first trail outing.
Distance: Flexible out-and-back
Effort: Easy trail skills
Climbing/descending: Gentle rollers
Allow: Choose your turnaround
From the Lodge: 20–30 min
Bike: Hardtail or suitable trail bike
Plan: Choose a mapped public access point and ride a manageable section out and back. This shoreline trail outing is different from committing to the full lake circuit.
Host tip: Turn around while everyone is still having fun. You can enjoy the lake without circling it.
Before you ride: Shoreline conditions and access vary with the season. Bring water and a flat-repair kit even for a shorter ride.
