Good to know
A Mountain Basecamp Built for Group Travel When you arrive at The Lost Sierra Lodge, the home opens up with warm gathering spaces, natural light, and room for everyone to spread out comfortably. The layout was intentionally designed for groups — making it easy to spend time together while still offering multiple places to relax, play, or step outside. Some guests gravitate toward the pool hall, others to the great room or deck, but the Lodge flows naturally between spaces so no one ever feels crowded. This is a home designed to host ten people comfortably, not squeeze them in. Our family has deep roots in the Lost Sierra dating back to the late 1800s, and we take pride in sharing a place that has been thoughtfully cared for and intentionally set up for guests. We’re always happy to help you experience the area like a local. Great Room: Kitchen, Dining & Living The great room is where most groups naturally come together — for shared meals, movie nights, or winding down after a day out. The open-concept layout connects the kitchen, dining, and living areas, creating a true central hub for the home. Here you’ll find: — Spacious open-concept kitchen, dining, and living space — Comfortable seating and a 75-inch Smart TV with guest mode — Wood stove for cozy evenings — Charging stations throughout (USB-A, USB-C, and standard outlets) — A guitar available for guests who play (piano restoration in progress) Pool Hall & Game Room The pool hall is a favorite spot for relaxed evenings and easy group hangouts. It features an 8-foot pool table, bar seating, and a comfortable lounge area. A Bluetooth soundbar sets the atmosphere, and French doors open directly to the deck and gas fire pit, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor flow. Just beyond, the game room often becomes the center of late-night competition and conversation. A professional 8-person poker table anchors the space and includes chips and cards. The convertible top doubles as a puzzle or game table and can also serve as extra dining space when needed. Fully Stocked Kitchen & Dining This kitchen was built for real group cooking — not just reheating leftovers. It’s fully equipped to prepare meals for up to ten guests and stocked with everything needed to cook, serve, and enjoy meals together. You’ll have access to: — Complete place settings for ten, including plates, bowls, wine glasses, tumblers, flatware, and steak knives — Ceramic cookware and a knife block with sharpener — Cutting boards, baking trays, muffin tins — Mixing bowls, measuring cups, and a full utensil selection For appliances, the kitchen includes: — KitchenAid stand mixer — Blender and rice cooker — Crockpots — Air fryer / toaster oven combo — Popcorn machine The pantry is stocked with over 20 spices and staples, including BBQ rubs, flour, sugars, pancake mix, and maple syrup to keep cooking simple and minimize store runs. A dedicated coffee and tea station includes a drip coffee maker, a K-Cup machine, complimentary coffee and pods (including decaf), an electric kettle, and a selection of Earl Grey and green teas. A built-in desk with USB charging is integrated into the cabinetry, and the Wi-Fi router is centrally located for strong, reliable coverage throughout the home. Outdoor Living: Deck, Fire Pit & Hot Tub Outside, the expansive wraparound deck feels like an extension of the living space and is a favorite gathering spot throughout the year. Outdoors you’ll find: — Dining for ten — BBQ grill — Gas fire pit — 7-person hot tub under dark Sierra skies In the backyard, two disc golf baskets offer a casual way to stretch your legs between meals or outings. Bedrooms & Comfort Each bedroom is designed for real group travel — comfortable, quiet, and easy to settle into for multi-night stays. Every room includes: — Fresh hospitality-grade linens — Four pillows per bed (two firm, two soft) — Room-darkening curtains — Full-length mirrors — Luggage racks and ample storage — Nightstands with USB-A, USB-C, and standard outlets — Ceiling fans in all upstairs bedrooms The downstairs bedroom features a king bed with easy access to shared spaces. The lofted primary suite above the pool hall offers space, light, and an en-suite bathroom, along with a sitting area and thoughtful extras for wedding parties and families. Bedrooms three and four include queen beds with additional twin air mattresses, while the fifth bedroom offers a full bed — giving groups flexible sleeping options without sacrificing comfort. Other Details to Note
Dog Policy Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome with prior approval. A fee of $50 per dog per stay applies, as shown in the listing. All dogs must be included in your reservation so the home can be prepared properly. If evidence of an undisclosed animal is found, the host may request reimbursement for the documented costs of additional cleaning or damages through Airbnb’s Resolution Center. This helps us protect our cleaners, future guests, and the quality of the home. Winter Travel and Snow Removal This is a true mountain property, and winter weather is part of the experience. From November through April, guests should be prepared for snow and changing conditions. Depending on the weather, 4WD or AWD with snow tires and/or chains may be required. Our standard Airbnb cancellation policy applies, and refunds are not provided for weather, snow depth, or road conditions. We make a reasonable effort to keep the driveway and access road cleared as accumulation builds, but snow removal is not a guaranteed amenity. Conditions may vary during storms and delays are possible. Shovels are provided for walkways, decks, and light snowfall. Guests are responsible for preparing appropriately for mountain conditions and using caution and proper footwear when moving around the property. Most guests have no issues at all, but preparation is important during winter months. Security Cameras For guest safety and property protection, there are two exterior cameras on site. One is located above the front door and the other faces the driveway and parking area. Cameras record exterior entry areas only. There are no cameras inside the home or in any private spaces. Footage may be used to verify occupancy limits, pet policies, and house rules. Cleaning A standard cleaning fee of $250 applies to all reservations. For stays longer than eight nights, a required mid-stay cleaning will be scheduled on the ninth day ($250). This maintains the home and ensures it remains in good condition for longer reservations. It is not a daily housekeeping service. RV Hookup RV parking is permitted with prior approval. RVs may not be used to increase guest occupancy. A hookup is available for $50 per night when arranged in advance. This fee will be requested through Airbnb’s Resolution Center after booking. Early Check-In or Late Check-Out We’re happy to offer early check-in or late check-out when we can. Because of the size of the home and the time required for a full turnover, approving this often limits our ability to accommodate a reservation the night before or after. In some cases, such as when we have a same-day arrival or departure, an expedited turnover may be available as a $100 upgrade, but this can’t be confirmed until closer to your stay. Availability depends on our cleaning schedule and adjacent bookings, and when possible, we’re happy to accommodate these requests.
